Preparation of ceramifiable flame-retarding composition (A) comprises preparing a partial mixture of synthetic rubber, metal hydroxide, auxiliary material and additives in a mixer and adding small amount of silicon rubber (5%) to the mixer; and subsequently mixing the remaining silicon rubber with the obtained mixture. Preparation of a ceramifiable flame-retarding composition (A) (comprising synthetic rubber (10-20%), on organic basis, in excess amount and silicon rubber (60%) in a lesser amount, respectively related to the sum of all components of (A) and (A) further comprises metal hydroxide, auxiliary materials and additives) comprises: (1) preparing a mixture of synthetic rubber, metal hydroxide, auxiliary material and additives in a mixer and adding small amount of silicon rubber (5%) to the mixer; and (2) subsequently mixing the remaining silicone rubber with the obtained mixture, which is prepared in the ratio of 0.8:1.2:1.
