The method involves inserting punch-outs into a plastic sheet (2) and disposing a snap-fit closure (6), including two profile strips, transverse to a course direction and on the sheet. The sheet is fed to a station in which the sheet is folded such that a front surface and side gussets (15) are formed, where the punch-outs limit an upper end of side gussets. The front surface and the side gussets are connected by the profile strips. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing a plastic bag.
