The housing has several cages (5) for accommodation of animals in barns at different levels. A guidance unit leads airflow to a lower cage, and is furnished to the lowest cage for unidirectional supply of the airflow. The guidance unit is arranged in such a manner that the supply of the airflow takes place on one side of the cages at different levels, where an opposite side of each cage is provided with an outlet. An independent claim is also included for a method for heating an animal housing.
