The feed device contains a blade (4) in the shape of a rectangular triangle that travels along rails (9) till an adjustable depth stop (11) meets a frame plate (12). The fabric is held in a clamp (3), after which the blade (4) is withdrawn and a cutting and sewing machine (1) cuts off the end and closes it by sewing. An independent claim is included for the process of making a corner by folding the fabric over a triangular blade (4), feeding it into a clamp and holding it. The blade is then withdrawn, the fabric cut and the end closed by sewing it with an overlock stitch. The fabric is then removed and unfolded to form the corner.
