A system drive bus (130) has several bus units connecting the host device output terminal to drive input terminal of the client device. A system response bus (140) has several response bus units connecting the host device input terminal to a response output terminal of the client device. A chain bus connects a drive input terminal of the N-th client device to response input terminal of the N-th client device. An independent claim is also included for method of operating multi-device system.
