A system and method are disclosed for the demodulation of rf - amplitude-modulated signals in a demodulator circuit arrangement a epco - conformal rfid - identification. An advantageous embodiment of the invention comprises a first and second input terminal, a + ve - envelope - detector circuit for each of the first and second input terminals, a - ve - envelope - detector circuit for each of the first and second input terminals, a + ve - envelope - differentiator circuit, a + ve - low-pass filter, a - ve - envelope - differentiator circuit, a - ve - low-pass filter and a zero crossing detector. The zero crossing detector recognizes a transition into the rf - input signal with the use of a voltage difference between a + ve - filtered, differentiated envelope - signal and a - ve - filtered, differentiated envelope - signal.
