The storage facility has a heater and a liquid medium (2) provided in an internal container (14), and a feeder (11) connected to a heat distributor (16) with which heat is brought into the internal container. The internal container has surrounding isolation (4) provided in sections, such that that around the internal container a cladding container (6) stands arranged in sections. The container is in thermal contact with the internal container, into which a heat-storing substance (3) is filled. The substance is a mixture of heat-storing material and or stone-like particles. An independent claim is included for a method.
