The snow thrower has a wheel-mounted frame (14) and a motorised paddle device (18) which can be placed in contact with the ground in order to move the snow thrower along the ground. A handle device (50) includes a user panel for the operative to control the paddle device force in order to control the speed of the thrower. A grip (52) in the handle device allows the operative to control the downwards movement of the paddle device, in order to control the degree of contact between the paddle device and ground.
