A method for making use of fermentation residues (I) from biogas plants with at least one fermenter and a block-type thermal power station, involves (a) mechanical separation of (I) into a mobile liquid phase (A) and a viscous phase (B), (b) storage, further processing and/or removal of phase (A), (c) drying phase (B) with the waste heat from the power station and collecting the condensate and (d) using the dried material as fuel. Independent claims are included for (1) equipment for using (I) by the above method, comprising a separator for stage (a), a storage system for phase (A), a dryer with heat exchanger for drying phase (B), a receiver for collecting the condensate from (B), devices for feeding in and removing (I) and devices for conducting heat to the heat exchanger for the dryer (2) a biogas plant with fermenter(s), a block-type thermal power station and equipment as above (3) fuel made by this method, in the above equipment and/or in a biogas plant as above .
