The connector has a plug (11), and a socket (12) with a contact carrier for supporting socket contacts. The socket carrier comprises socket contact units, which make contact when the plugs are connected in the sockets. An additional plug-in connector with a plug and socket is introduced or integrated into the former connector, and has small system-induced tolerances in the plug-in direction than the former connector. An independent claim is also included for a plug-in connector system with plug-in connectors.
