The latch has a carriage to move along a line parallel to a strike. A rotating hook (18) is provided to capture/release the strike when it enters/exists a hook opening. A stop (28) holds the carriage in a position along a line with a spring (26) in a high state of compression when the hook is in the release position, and releases the carriage to another position when the hook is in capture position.
