Handling device (1) comprises a suction bridge (4) with several suction grippers (3) and a lifting device (4') with several suction grippers (3'). Each gripper on the lifting device is fixed to a spring-loaded pressure part and has a key nd/or cone-shaped suction cup (6') made of flexible material. The suction gripper has a closeable ventilation channel (9') which is closed when the workpiece is lifted from the bottom worktool (29) so that an under pressure is built up between the inner wall (17') of the suction cup and the workpiece surface facing the gripper. In this way workpieces (2) are fixed on the lifting device.
