The device has a current determination device (13) for determining a current mode of oscillation of an audio signal (S1). An evaluation unit (15) evaluates distortion components based on a difference between the current mode of oscillation and a signal mode of oscillation of the signal. An adding device (11) adds the distortion components to the signal and provides the added output to an amplifier. An independent claim is also included for a distortion correcting method in an audio signal-amplifying device.
