The gear case has a laser-welded seam (8a) which is sealed in relation to an oil-filled casing interior (20a) by an O-ring seal (12a). A shoulder (16) is provided between the laser-welded seam and the O-ring seal. The seal is installed in a slot (13a). A horizontal gap (17a) is provided between the laser-welded seam and the seal and a vertical gap (11a) between the seal and the gear case interior.
