A device for varying the compression ratio of a piston combustion engine comprises angle varying crank pegs (2) comprising three cylindrical sections (A,B,C) with two (A,C) on a common axis (D) and a third section (B) between them having a turning axis (E) fixed to the connection rod and deviating from the other sections (AC) to give a one-part eccentricity. The crank peg component is a hydraulic adjuster. An independent claim is also included for a method for the above device.
