A washing machine comprises a frame (2) wash chamber (3), drum (4) and device (7) to measure the filling condition of the wash bath and supply an electrical signal that comprises an induction converter having a coil and core, whose relative position changes with the degree of filling and thus changes the inductance. The converter is coupled to the drum so that the inductance can be changed according to the weight in the drum.
