The elevator, without a machine frame, has a cabin (1) attached to a catch frame to ride on rails through side rollers. The cabin is attached to the counterweight cable (2) and the drive cable (3). The counterweight cable runs over a deflection roller at the shaft head, to a counterweight (7). The motor (4), as a synchronous motor with or without gearing, is attached to the catch frame, with the drive cable following a 190[deg] path around a deflection roller (5) at the bottom of the frame.
