Electronic element (I) comprises two electrically conducting contacts (1,2) (in which a molecule (3) is bound to the first electrically conducting contact) and a molecular core (6), where the conformation of the molecule between both the electrically conducting contacts changes and the electrical conductivity is modulated by the molecule between the two electrically conducting contacts.
