Electronic element (I) comprises two electrically conducting contacts (1,2) (in which a molecule (3) is bound to the first electrically conducting contact) and a molecular core (6), where the conformation of the molecule between both the electrically conducting contacts changes and the electrical conductivity is modulated by the molecule between the two electrically conducting contacts. Electronic element (I) comprises two electrically conducting contacts (1,2) (in which a molecule (3) bridged with at least one anchor group (4) is bound to the first electrically conducting contact) and a molecular core (6) (exhibiting one or more conjugated units and an electrically conducting gate-electrode (7), which is separated by an electrically insulated layer (8) of molecule), where the conformation of the molecule between the both electrically conducting contacts changes by the formation of an electric tension between the gate-electrode and the first electrically conducting contact and the electrical conductivity is modulated by the molecule between the two electrically conducting contacts.
