The aerosol generator, to deliver a dosed volume of solid particles in the aerosol stream, has a supply container (3) for the particles. To extract the particles, a toothed belt (1) runs through a channel (6). A rotating arm (2) presses the particles into the gaps between the teeth, and a suction unit (4) with slit jets aligned at the belt extract the carried powder. The slit jets can be straight, curved or circular.
