Wedge type cam slides (8,9), installed to a cross beam (5), are individually assigned to upper and lower press yokes (6,7). With the cross beam moved horizontally by a central drive unit (1), the cam slides make the press yokes move vertically and open or close. The drive unit is of a hydraulic or electro mechanical type.
