The reflector (2) has a sound reflection surface positionable below a sound board of a grand piano (1) for lateral reflection of sound waves that are downwardly emitted by the sound board. A side of the reflection surface runs parallel to the sound board in an area of a bass string at a height of 30 to 50 centimeters from a base. Another side of the surface is arranged on the base or in direct proximity to the base. An independent claim is also included for a grand piano, in particularly baby grand piano, salon grand piano, concert grand piano and large concert grand piano, comprising a sound reflector.
