An improved design of water tap, e.g. for domestic, industrial or medical applications, has a single control lever (3) to set the outflow temperature and flow rate. The lever has an aperture through which is set a swivel mounted outlet spout (2) with a grip, e.g. cross bar, at the end. This enables the user to set the optimum outflow and position in one simple movement. The design can be applied to a range of tap shapes.
