Apparatus for determining the disintegration time of tablets or lipophilic suppositories in liquids has a tablet store (2) above a heated liquid bath (1). Test tubes (9) are filled with test liquid and a tablet is placed in each of them. Test rods (11) are then lowered into them and a signal is produced when each rod makes contact with the base of the tube, indicating that the tablet has disintegrated.
