The device has a flat lid (2) of paper or cardboard or plastics foil which can be curved but has an adhesive layer (3) on one side to fix on the edge of the container. The lid can be pressed onto the opening of the container by the side having the adhesive layer and flanges over at the edges. It can be printed on one or both sides .
