Tool unit for use in molding and injection molding machines to produce identical opposing sloping slots (6) in plastic ball sockets (5) comprises sloping slides (2) on either side of a wedge-shaped mounting (3). These are operated by thrust bearings (4) with sloping lower edges (7) which fit against the tops of the slides. The bearings and slides are connected by tie-rods (8).
