In polyester fabric with a pattern produced by heat transfer printing from smooth paper, the novel features are that (a) the paper is coated with a vaporizable adhesive, on which a pattern is printed with vaporizable water color and (b) the fabric is contacted with the pattern, then both the adhesive and the water color are vaporized (sublimed) by applying heat and pressure and penetrate into the fabric.
