A pharmaceutical composition (A), in a solid dosage form (preferably lozenge) as cough agent and/or for the topical treatment of inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat, comprising a combination of Lichen islandicus(I) (Iceland moss) and/or its extract and Mentha piperita(II) (peppermint) and/or its extract (preferably in the form of peppermint oil (Menthae piperitae aetheroleum)), is new. An independent claim is also included for a lozenge, for treating cough and hoarseness, comprising (A). ACTIVITY : Antitussive; Antiinflammatory; Antianginal; Antibacterial; Antimicrobial; Antiasthmatic; Antiulcer; Laxative; Antidiarrheic. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
