The device is for facilitating the production of decorative bows and has a base plate (2) and two symmetrically arranged, vertically upwardly extending pairs of devices (1) for positioning binding material and bow bands. The two positioning devices of each pair are spaced apart and parallel to each other. The first pair of such devices locates against the second pair and a binding material runs linearly through the two pairs. The positioning devices are portal in formation as spring stirrups with arms. The outer arm (1a) of the spring stirrup at its ends is rigidly connected with the base plate and the ends of the inner locating arms (1b) are movable in slots (3) running in the direction of the upper parts of the portals.
