The grid has a transmitter emitting transmission light beams and a receiver for receiving the light beams. The transmitter and receiver are integrated in a housing that comprises a hollow profile body (6) on whose front side a cap (7) is provided. A connection unit is provided in the inner side of cap, and a drag unit is brought into contact with the profile body. The cap is drawn against the profile body by actuating the drag unit.
