The apparatus has a flexible, swingable shaft (12) with weights attached at both ends. A grasp element (18), manufactured from a flexible material, encloses the shaft (12) and is centrically arranged. A fixing element is provided for the axial adjustment of the grasp element (18) at the shaft. The fixing element (50) with the grasp element (18) is provided into a partial positive interference for a user. The fixing element (50) or the fixing elements (50) can be independently fastened to the shaft. The fixing element with the grasp element is at an axial face (36) of the grasp element (18) and provides a partial positive interference. The fixing element (50) is designed as a tension ring and made of metal.
