The bundle of optical fibers (1) is surrounded by a plastic helical winding (2), this layer forming an inner casing. A tubular braid (3) is drawn over this casing and comprises e.g. glass fiber fabric or an organic material. A plastic tube (4) forms the outer sheathing. The plastic helical winding consists of a polyamide material.
