The system for the rapid separation of a chest or hip belt from an abseil cable has a component of textile polyamide with a stitched abseil figure-of-eight at an end side. Two rings of different sizes are stitched to the other end, with an eyelet with a stitched nylon loop. A cushion or loop grip is fitted with a Velcro (RTM:) burr fastener for a quick release. A 15-20 cm cable of Teflon (RTM:) PTFE is in the cushion or grip to take the nylon loop.
