The packing for a donner kebab has a top open container (2) to hold the donner kebab. The container is manufactured from a geometrically stable packing material and is bounded at the bottom by a standing surface (22) by which the packing with its opening pointing upwards is stood on a base surface. A side wall section (5) is connected to the standing surface and has a longitudinal section which in principle is perpendicular to the standing surface, and in a plane of intersection parallel to the standing surface has an elliptical, rectangular, square and/or polygonal cross section.
