The air conditioning appliance has units for the carrying out of climatizing functions for climatizing rooms by heat-yielding electrical or electronic units. A main unit (3) fulfilling all the climatizing functions is connected to an auxiliary unit (5) which fulfils a part of the climatizing functions of the air conditioning appliance with units (12,17) which are redundant to the units (7,8) of the main unit. The main unit and the auxiliary unit are connected to an external component (4) via at least one common flow path.
