The plate (1) has an inner side, on which an inscription and/or ornamentation (5) is formed by a laser beam (3) and due to structural changes of the plate materials. The laser beam can be a red laser with a wave band of about 1064 nanometers or a green laser with a wave band of about 532 nanometers. The inner side of plate has transparent reflecting surfaces for incident light.
