The tool for the opening of closely adhering thin walls of plastic bags comprises two narrow arms (1), preferably of spring-steel, which during manufacture are bent into a S-shape so that at one end in the untensioned state there exists a gap for fitting round the bag. Suction cups or clamping jaws (2) are provided on these ends, movable in an articulated fashion and fastened by suitable means by which the two bag sections during clamping and reciprocal rotation of the two arms are relatively displaced.
