An anti theft mounting for an access point (AP) for a WLAN is made of angled metal secured by rivets, welding or by other fasteners. The AP is located inside the protective housing (1) by an end stop (2) and the mounting is sealed by a hinged flap (3), or sliding closure (4), secured by a padlock or other lock fitting. The housing has apertures (5) for antennas and data and power cables and the mountings (6) are covered by the installed AP. Suitable housing materials include various thickness of steel sheet, perforated steel sheet, aluminum and plastic.
