The connector has a body extending in the transverse direction and having a slot for insertion of interface cards. Terminal receiving apertures are provided either side of the slot. The lower surface of the connector body is divided into a connector region and a space region. The distal ends of the terminals extend out of the connector region. The space region is set back to form a recess section so that the lower surface of the space region is higher than that of the connector region.
