The envelope has a lateral closing strap (23) removably formed on a rear side section (22) for sealing of the envelope. The strap is foldable at a folding edge (41) of the strap in such a manner that an address field for a sending address is accessible on the strap in an addressing condition of the envelope, and an address field for a return address is accessible on a front side section (21) of the envelope for the address imprint.
