The device has an indication unit (4) for actual marking of inserted gear, where the indication unit is performed by light emitting diodes. A structural arrangement of the indication unit and gear pattern (8) enables assignment of gear and indication unit. The structural arrangement is controlled by an electromechanical device, and the gear pattern is arranged at a top side of a switching knob.
