The component stiffening the hollow profile (1), lies between opposite internal surfaces of its peripheral wall. It is a stressed tensile component forming a stiffening cross-tie. One end is welded to an internal surface of the circumferential wall of the hollow profile. The other end is welded to the opposite external surface of the circumferential wall of the hollow profile. The stiffening component is a bending- or kinking-resistant tensile wire or rod, and its cross section is tubular or star-shaped.
