Miniature chemostat has a thermostatic water-tight container (1) has a lid and an electronic module (2) that regulates heading of the container using heating foils. The container also encloses a chemostatic reaction cell (4) with a volume of less than 25 ml. In the cell are electrochemical sensors (5a, 5b), a reference element, mixer (6) and temperature sensor (8b). Capillaries (9) are provided for supply and removal of media.
