An impact absorbing crash barrier for roadside objects such as posts, trees and masts has a short barrier with curved end sections mounted on shear posts and with integral weakened points (5) to fold under impact. Reinforced posts (1) provide a fulcrum each side of the object about which the end sections bend under impact to absorb the crash. Additional impact protection is provided by impact absorbing fittings (8) positioned on the crash barrier with spacing each side of the objects.
