New polyimide-siloxanes (I) with recurring imidosiloxane gps. are co-condensates of siloxane anhydrides (II) with units of formula (IIA) and opt. (IIB) and organic diamines (III). New polyimide-siloxanes have recurring imidosiloxanes of formula (IA) and/or (IB) and opt. aromatic imide gps. of formula (IV); and new polyanhydride siloxanes (V) with ca. 5-2000 units contain a mixt. of silyl anhydride units for formula (VA) and organosiloxane units of formula (VB): R = a monovalent 1-14C hydrocarbyl gp., opt. substd. by neutral gps. during copolycondensation; R1 = a trivalent 6-14C aromatic organic gp.; R2 = a divalent 2-14C organic gp.; R3 = a tetravalent 1-14C aromatic gp.; a and c = 0, 1 or 2; b = 0, 1, 2 or 3; d = 2; n = 1 to ca. 2000.
