The cladding has tubbing rings connected in ring joints (10), which are assembled from individual tubbings (12,14) to form a link chain. The annular faces of the tubbings have grooves (16), which are arranged in the curved middle planes of the tubbings' walls and hold elastic intermediate elements (18) to support adjacent rubbings. The elastic intermediate elements are preferably also arranged in grooves in the longitudinal faces of the tubbings.
