In a method for the qualitative and/or quantitative analysis of the protein and/or peptide pattern of a human or animal body fluid sample, the peptides and proteins are separated from the sample by capillary electrophoresis, directly ionized and transferred for analysis online via an interface to a coupled mass spectrometer.
