In the comparison method for a number of copies of a stored data held in a processor, a protocol data is assigned to each data copy in which variations to the data copy are stored. The variations are grouped together into one sequence of variations, with the propositions for comparison of the data copies determined from the protocol data, with comparison of the variation sequences.
