The invention relates to a method for determining travel route data in a motor vehicle. According to the inventive method, a destination is given beforehand and the travel route data is determined while taking into account the present position of the motor vehicle, the given destination, and the map data stored in the motor vehicle. In addition, actual traffic information data and data concerning changes to the maps are used during this determination, whereby the traffic information data and data concerning changes to the maps are transmitted over a radio broadcast transmission system.
