Said measured field D(H) is obtained from a universal set (M) by performing the following operations: capturing or scanning the universal set (M) by means of said appliance to produce an image (I); selecting an image zone (Z) in the image (I); computing a reference image (R) from said image (I); selecting, in the reference image (R), a reference zone (ZR) homologous to the image zone (ZI); selecting a base (B) for representing all or part of the image (ZI) or reference (ZR) zones; selecting variable characteristics of the appliance (APP), thereby obtaining the measured field (D(H). The invention is applicable to photographic or video image processing, in optical devices, industrial controls, robotics, metrology and the like.
