This invention relates to a method for identifying an individual, in particular human, as a positive responder or a non-responder to a type-I Interferon (IFN) therapy, in particular IFN- beta therapy, used in the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis by determining TRAIL gene expression and/or TRAIL protein level. The invention further relates to the use of said method for monitoring IFN therapy in the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis and to a kit for carrying out said method.
